Ornate frames. Thrift stores, yard sales and discount stores are a great source of ornate frames to be painted to display reproduction postcards and greeting cards in nostalgic designs. Pressed flowers can also be framed and displayed in groups on your walls or on table tops.
Casual Style: Casual looks bring comfort, warmth, and relaxation to the home. This can be accomplished with rectangular elements, rustic design, and soft furniture with textured fabrics. Formal Style: Formal styles invite elegance, symmetry, and exquisite furniture. Consider an elegant style with high ceilings, polished woods, and tall windows. Imported rugs, antique accessories, and decorative trims are a must for this type of interior.
The dining room in a traditional home is generally a separate room, often with some built-in corner cabinets for china storage. A large area rug sits on top of a hardwood floor. The table is rectangular with a set of matched chairs placed evenly around the perimeter. A matching sideboard, buffet, or china cabinet is centered on one wall.
With all this said remember that too many patterns in the same room can be a bit overwhelming and contribute to visual clutter. Be sure to use a solid color (or a few solid colors) to create balance and pull all the patterns together. When it comes to mixing patterns the most important thing to remember is to have fun and stay true to the looks you like best. When you do, chances are good that it will all come together without too much difficulty.
